About Us

John Alcock

John Alcock is the founder of Sound Propaganda, and has managed to survive relatively unscathed for 30 years in the music industry both in the U.K. and the U.S.A. Born and raised in England, he has been based in Los Angeles for many years.

He has produced albums in London, New York, Memphis, Munich, Geneva, Berlin, Sydney, San Francisco and Los Angeles with many artists, including John Entwistle (The Who), Thin Lizzy, Flash Fearless with Alice Cooper, Justin Hayward, Elkie Brooks, Jim Dandy (Black Oak Arkansas), The Sharks, Keith Relf (The Yardbirds) Earl Slick, Carmine Appice, Danny Spanos, Commander Cody, The Runaways, Alexis Korner, Vacant Stare, The Raiders, Ventilator, Crisis and most recently, Ali Taylor. Awarded many Gold and Platinum Records. Recipient of Producer's Award for the best single by the British Recording Industry/New Musical Express annual awards two years running.

JAstudio

John also consulted in studio design and management in England, having been part of teams responsible for design of recording studios such as Studio Visages, Ramport Studios (The Who), John Entwistle, The Rolling Stones mobile, Ronnie Lane, Cat Stevens, Morgan Studios, Ron Wood, Apple Studios and many others. Long before it was 'the trend' John was a proponent of private studios for artists' personal recording projects.

As John continues his music business activities as a producer, studio designer and record company consultant, he figured that the old adage of 'getting something done means doing it yourself'  also applies to finding and developing new artists. So this year, plans are underway for the development of Sound Propaganda, a company where the artists would be directly involved in all aspects of their career.

After seeking out associates (with a finely-tuned sense of humor) work begins on putting together the team of staff, consultants and advisors necessary to bring these plans to reality.
